In-Home Cleaning – Inside
Cleaning is one of the best defenses against humidity. Dust acts like a bunch of tiny sponges that hold on to the humidity. An inside cleaning for a grand includes cleaning under the strings. Then, we pull the action out of the piano and clean inside the cavity. On an upright, we vacuum and clean the inside of the piano. This ensures we are able to control the humidity inside the piano more efficiently.
Full Cleaning –
A full cleaning for a grand includes cleaning under the strings. Then, we pull the action out of the piano and clean inside the cavity. We clean the action (moving parts) the best we can with a vacuum and we clean the outside of the piano
On an upright, we vacuum and clean the inside of the piano. This ensures we are able to control the humidity inside the piano more efficiently. We then remove the keys to access the keyed. This is an area that usually is never touched, but collects a lot of dirt and dust through the life of the piano.
